Submitting An Event For The Calendar

Before you submit an event, please keep the following in mind:

  • All submissions are reviewed by a moderator prior to acceptance on the calendar.  Please check carefully for typographical errors.

  • To be eligible for inclusion, an event must be officially sponsored by the University of Idaho and targeted for Idaho youth ages Kindergarten through High School.

Instructions on how to enter a calendar event:

Poster's Information: The person that is entering in the information needs to enter your name and email address.

Owner's Information: The contact person for the event needs to have their name, email, organization, & phone number entered.

Event Information:
Event date: enter in the start of your event using the format mm/dd/yyyy (09/05/2000), the calendar on the right can also be used to select your date.

End date: Enter in the end of your event using the format mm/dd/yyyy (09/05/2000), the calendar on the right can also be used to select your date. If your event only lasts for one day, leave this field blank.

Start time: Enter in the start time of your event using the format hh:mm am/pm (10:00 am). If you don't have a time leave the field blank.

End time: Enter in the end time of your event using the format hh:mm am/pm (10:00 am).

Time Zone: Select what time zone your event is being held at--PST (Pacific Standard Time), MST (Mountain Standard Time), etc.

Recurrence: Select the recurrence frequency if this is an event will be held daily, weekly, etc. or on specific dates, click on Add Specific Dates to add multiple dates and times.

Select Grade Level: Click on what grade the event is for, if there are multiple grade levels, use the Control (Ctrl) key on your keyboard to select multiple grades.

Select Location: Select the location area your event is being held (Northern Idaho, Boise/Treasure Valley, etc.), if it is not on the list then leave it on All.

Private Event: If you check mark this box, the event you just entered will not be viewable to the public.

Desired Title: Enter in your event title or a brief descriptive words.

URL Link: Enter in your complete website address, which includes the http://. Only enter website addresses, not your email address. If you do not have a website you may want to click on "Add Detailed Description" that creates a webpage for you, otherwise leave blank.

Brief Synopsis: Enter in a description of your event, it will appear below the title on the main page.

Comments: Enter in information that you need to let us know, this will not be viewable to the public.

Add Detailed Description: Click on this if you don't have a website and want to include more information about your event, this creates a webpage for you. You will be able to add graphics, bold, center, and use different font sizes.

Submit Event: Click on submit event, your event has been submitted and it will go through a weekly review process before being "live" or "published" on the calendar. If there are any problems with the submission you will be notified to resubmit.
